Music: -

The only sound is the sound I hear is the low humming of the CPU and the typing of keys as I compose this.

Tonight I feel fairly sad. I don't know how to translate that in Thai though. It's the first time I've been blue since my trip here. Oh and since I'm on that topic, I might as well just say it's my fourth day in Thailand, I think.

Well, today was less than productive. Had the normal equipping sessions with P' Robert (calling someone P' is a sign of respect; like Uncle) and then went out to lunch. Have I told you how good Thai food is? Yeah. That's a bad thing cos I'll gain weight for sure throughout the month.

Which leads me to my second event. After lunch, we hung out at the building with a couple of other Thai students. And then at 4 (Malaysian timing is an hour faster than Thailand), we met up with P' Jenny to go to Carrefour. We- the interns -stocked up on cookies and snacks. I took the oppurtunity to grab some instant soup. I'm in love with those things and they're also pretty filling.

At night, we went to a Winter Festival, because it is winter right now in Chiangmai; the state/province where I am at. For those of you who need further geography classes, Chiangmai is located to the north of Thailand and about 30 to 45 minutes from Bangkok by plane.

The festival really was a carnival actually. Like a funfair. Complete with ferry wheels (I'm not sure what they're called) and rows and rows of street food. Some of us tried winning a couple of the cheap soft toys they had as prizes but sadly, we weren't lucky enough. The clothes however were super cheap and I was so tempted to get some.

To conclude this post- because I am feeling rather tired and I still have more work to do -Chiangmai is an awesome place to be in. I love being lost in translation all the time and being talked about right in front of my face yet have no idea what's going on. The people here are spectacular and I don't think it could any better. Oh the food. Have I mentioned the food yet? Ah, I suppose you guys already know all about Thai food.

I hope to be writing more with the weeks to come. Hopefully with a couple of pictures and whatnot. Let's just see if I have enough time.

To the friends who has already started living the college life: I hope you guys are having as much as fun attending class as I am shopping here in Thailand.
