Having discovered Greg Gifune, I'm happy to say I have yet to be disappointed . Kingdom of Shadows was a thrill to read. Darkly atmospheric and over the top haunting. One nightmarish page after another, I was drawn deeper into his smooth writing and flair for storytelling. A complete writer at the top of his game. Highly recommended, I will be reading more from Greg.Product details

As always Greg tells a great story that keeps the reader on the edge and doesn't let them go.
Great book thanks forgetting keep up the great work you really know the how to keep people reading and holding on to intense side of reading
Had a very Jacob's Laddery feel to it however the storyline veers into a very pleasant unknown path that leads u needing to know what happens next...Great writing and have yet to be disappointed by this guy.
This novella is a surprisingly dark and effective work. The story starts out in the midst of action--that's a rare touch that I almost always enjoy in a book. Gifune weaves an excellent story with this one, focusing on one protagonist, but tossing in enough detail about the people around him to make the tale inventive and keep the plot strong.
I assumed this was going to be a run-of-the-mill story of scary scarecrows messing people up. I ended up with a lot more than I bargained for. In this short fast read, there are layers of paranoia, experimentation and gore that I had not expected. The switching back and forth from flashback to present lends a dreamlike quality, and when the climax hits and the truth is revealed the result is quite chilling.
Very seldom does a book scare me, this one did. I recommend not to read before you go to bed because I did and had nightmares about it all night. It was an awesome read that in a way was like Jacob's ladder, I really hope to read more of this author. I highly recommend this book to all fan's of modern horror.
Mr. Gifune is high on my list of what's right in this world. His storytelling is some of the best stuff ever. I go in to any book from this author knowing that in less than a chapter I'm going to be full of dread. The different aspects of these characters and what they've been and are now going through made me feel like I was there every step of the way. Loved the story from beginning to end. Yep, I'd recommend this story and author.
